Quick Note - Reset Mysql password
This needs to be here...for reasons...
  • Stop mysql service
  • sudo /etc/init.d/mysql stop

  • Start Mysql without a password
  • sudo mysqld_safe --skip-grant-tables &

  • Connect to Mysql
  • mysql -uroot

  • Set a new password, that you can remember!
  • use mysql;
    update user set password=PASSWORD("mynewpassword") where User='root';
    flush privileges;

  • restart MySql service
  • sudo /etc/init.d/mysql stop
    sudo /etc/init.d/mysql start

  • Login with your new password
  • mysql -u root -p

  • Dont forget your password again :P
